The Buffalo Sabres have signed recently acquired defenseman Olen Zellweger to a three-year contract with an AAV of $3.1 million, the team announced Wednesday.
The Sabres traded for Zellweger from the Anaheim Ducks for the 45th pick in the 2026 NHL draft and forward prospect Anton Wahlberg.
Zellweger, who turns 23 in September, replenishes depth for the Sabres after they traded Bowen Byram to Chicago earlier in the week.
He played a career-high 76 games with Anaheim last season and had 22 points (7+15).
Zellweger was a second-round draft pick by the Ducks in 2021.
