Take the Missing Middle Housing survey

The City is seeking feedback on proposed standards for Missing Middle Housing.

Missing Middle Housing includes housing types such as duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and cottage courts that can provide additional housing options within Sacramento neighborhoods.

The survey asks community members to share their perspectives on housing preferences, neighborhood design, and priorities for future development. It is available in English, Russian, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese.

The survey will be available through Aug. 31, 2026, on the project webpage.

Connect with the City in the community

Planning staff will be attending neighborhood meetings, community events and pop-up outreach opportunities throughout the summer to answer questions, share information about the project and gather community feedback.

Community members are encouraged to stop by these events, learn more about the proposed zoning changes and share their input with City staff. Visit the project webpage for the latest outreach schedule, event locations and additional engagement opportunities.

Follow the project and stay informed

Project information, outreach materials, and upcoming engagement opportunities are available on the project webpage.

Community members can also sign up for project updates and submit comments online throughout the summer.

What happens next

Community feedback gathered through the survey, online informational boards, webinars, meetings, and other outreach activities will help inform proposed zoning code updates before they are presented to City Council for consideration for adoption in winter 2026.
