Fire crews are battling a fire at a vehicle salvage yard in the Rancho Cordova area that produced a large column of black smoke Friday evening.
The fire is located along Recycle Road, between the Folsom South Canal and Sunrise Boulevard.

Vehicles and grass between the business and the canal have burned.
It’s unknown how many vehicles burned or what started the fire.
A helicopter is among fire equipment at the scene, dropping water on the fire.
