Woman found dead inside apartment; Sacramento sheriff investigating

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman was found dead in a North Highlands apartment. Around 3:30 a.m. on July 4, the sheriff’s office said its communications center received a call for a welfare check. When deputies arrived at the apartment in the 7400 block of Holworthy Way, the sheriff’s office said no one answered the door. Deputies entered through an unlocked door and found an adult woman dead, according to the sheriff’s office.The death is being investigated by the department’s homicide detectives and crime scene investigators. The sheriff’s office has asked anyone with information contact them at 916-874-5115.
