Shots fired during pursuit, Eastbound I-80 closed in Citrus Heights, sheriff says
Sacramento County Sheriff’s office said an officer-involved shooting took place on I-80 Sunday morning.

Eastbound Interstate 80 is shut down after a pursuit and shots fired by the Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies. The sheriff’s office said this began when a suspect in a domestic violence call fled the scene in a vehicle. Deputies initiated a pursuit which ended with an officer-involved shooting near the weigh station on I-80 between Greenback Lane and Antelope Road in Citrus Heights.Eastbound I-80 is closed at Greenback Lane. There is no estimated time for when the lanes will reopen. Westbound lanes were closed but are now open. This is a developing story. CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. —
Eastbound Interstate 80 is shut down after a pursuit and shots fired by the Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies.
The sheriff’s office said this began when a suspect in a domestic violence call fled the scene in a vehicle. Deputies initiated a pursuit which ended with an officer-involved shooting near the weigh station on I-80 between Greenback Lane and Antelope Road in Citrus Heights.
Eastbound I-80 is closed at Greenback Lane. There is no estimated time for when the lanes will reopen. Westbound lanes were closed but are now open.
