It was a terrifying start to Fourth of July celebrations as a skydiver crashed into the Folsom Pro Rodeo in Folsom, California, on Thursday.
In a video filmed by a rodeo attendee, the skydiver is seen crashing into the venue with an American flag attached to him.
The skydiver, Ross Vail, was performing a stunt when the American flag became snagged on a tree, causing him to make a hard landing near several small tents and nearly avoided crashing into the stands.
The Folsom Pro Rodeo said in a statement on social media that Ross was not injured during the stunt.

In a statement, the Folsom Pro Rodeo said Vail was not injured.
“Ross is safe and walked into our arena, post jump, to a standing ovation,” the Folsom Pro Rodeo wrote in a social media post.

Vail reattempted the stunt on July 4, successfully landing inside the stadium. The Folsom Pro Rodeo shared video of the successful jump on social media.
