Sunday night Oakland/Wawanesa Fire Department responded to multiple calls following a severe thunderstorm that moved through the municipality.

According to information posted on social media, crews split into multiple response teams and attended 10 calls within the hour, primarily involving electrical emergencies.  One of those response areas was a portion of Highway 2 between Provincial Road 340 and Highway 18 due to multiple hydro poles being downed by the storm.

Firefighters continued to assess the impact of multiple storms throughout the night.
