Long Beach woman charged with attempted murder after knifing

The Long Beach Police Department booked a woman into the Pacific County Jail Monday afternoon, July 6, after a reported stabbing at about 2:34 p.m. on the 1100 Block of Ocean Beach Blvd in Long Beach.
According to the LBPD Deputy Chief Casey Meling, officers were dispatched to the report that there were multiple people outside fighting and that one was armed with a knife, and that a male had been stabbed.
Units from LBPD, the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, along with Washington State Parks rushed to the scene.
“Officers arrived and contacted multiple witnesses that said they observed the female stab the male,” Meling said. “Officers located the victim lying on the grass. One of the witnesses stated that the female suspect had gone inside the residence and was showering.”
“The male victim was uncooperative and said that he was not stabbed and that thorns caused the injuries. He also said that the suspect had left the scene. Officers continued to yell inside the residence to make contact with the suspect,” Meling added.
The suspect, Tatiana M. Bynum, 20, eventually surrendered to law enforcement and was peacefully taken into custody.
“Ring video footage was later obtained that showed the female attacking the male with what appeared to be a knife,” Meling said. “The victim was not cooperative during the investigation and refused medical attention on scene.”
“It is our understanding that he later sought medical attention at a nearby medical facility for an evaluation,” Meling added.
The male reportedly had a “forearm slash and abdomen puncture.” His current condition is unknown.
Bynum was booked into the jail for first-degree attempted murder at 4:21 p.m. Monday and will likely appear for a preliminary appearance in the Pacific County Superior Court on Tuesday, July 7, where pretrial release conditions will be set including bail.
