JONES COUNTY – A man wanted in connection with a Jones County shooting has been arrested in Long Beach.
The Jones County Sheriff’s Department said Robert Brickhouse was arrested on a felony warrant after authorities received a tip about his whereabouts in Long Beach.
Officers with the Long Beach Police Department went to a residence, found Brickhouse and took him into custody, according to the sheriff’s department. He was later returned to Jones County.
Brickhouse has been charged with aggravated assault manifesting extreme indifference to life.
Authorities said Brickhouse is accused of shooting an adult male at a Jones County residence last week and fleeing the scene before deputies arrived. The victim was taken to a regional hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
“We greatly appreciate the efforts of the Long Beach Police Department in following up on the lead we received and taking Robert Brickhouse into custody,” JCSD Lead Investigator Lt. Denny Graham said.
Graham said Brickhouse is being held at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility pending his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 8.
