BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An 80-year-old Bakersfield man died Tuesday morning after crashing his dirt bike in a dirt field near Renfro and Brimhall roads.
The California Highway Patrol said on Tuesday, July 7, at around 9:47 a.m., officers were called to a report of a motorcycle down in a dirt field southwest from the corner of Renfro Road and Brimhall Road.
CHP said a preliminary investigation found that an 80-year-old Bakersfield man was riding a 2024 Honda dirt bike on a dirt field adjacent to Renfro Road and Brimhall Road, in a westerly direction.
According to CHP, for reasons still under investigation, the 80-year-old man and the dirt bike collided with the dirt roadway.
Kern County Fire personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the 80-year-old man dead.
