Firefighters are crediting a quick-thinking neighbor with helping a teenager escape a fire that burned two homes Tuesday in Sacramento County, officials said.The fire started around noon along Hidden Meadow Way between Falcon View Drive and Misty Pass Way in the Antelope neighborhood, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said. Crews who arrived saw two homes engulfed in flames.Sac Metro Fire said a second alarm was requested, meaning additional personnel and resources were deployed.The fire department also noted that before firefighters arrived, a neighbor helped a teen safely escape one of the homes before the fire worsened. Crews worked to ensure that there was nobody else inside either home and that the flames did not spread to any other homes.While the cause of the fire is unknown, Sac Metro Fire said it may have started outside before spreading inside. Firefighters are crediting a quick-thinking neighbor with helping a teenager escape a fire that burned two homes Tuesday in Sacramento County, officials said.
The fire started around noon along Hidden Meadow Way between Falcon View Drive and Misty Pass Way in the Antelope neighborhood, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said. Crews who arrived saw two homes engulfed in flames.
Sac Metro Fire said a second alarm was requested, meaning additional personnel and resources were deployed.
The fire department also noted that before firefighters arrived, a neighbor helped a teen safely escape one of the homes before the fire worsened. Crews worked to ensure that there was nobody else inside either home and that the flames did not spread to any other homes.
While the cause of the fire is unknown, Sac Metro Fire said it may have started outside before spreading inside. No injuries were reported.
