Kern County Public Health works to raise awareness about Valley Fever and West Nile Virus

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County Public Health’s “Thrive Like a Poppy” campaign is working to raise awareness about the health conditions that impact our community.

KCPH is currently focusing on issues like Valley fever and West Nile Virus as the summer months usually see those diseases spread more rapidly.

Director of Public Health Brynn Carrigan joined ARC Bakersfield to break down what the community needs to know about the heat risks they may be facing.
