At the meeting, the council reviewed some of the details of the construction plan, which is the second phase of the city’s water main replacement. This phase will cover the walks from Grand Boulevard to Lindell Boulevard, from Park Avenue to Beech Street, and involves running new water mains and service lines.

Farmingdale-based contractor Thomas Novelli is slated to perform the construction work for a price of $5,727,100.00, per the city council agenda. Novelli was the lowest bidder, Creighton said, noting that Novelli was also the contractor who performed phase one of the water main replacement, which covered mains between New York Avenue and Grand Boulevard.
