Re “Meters for nearly 300 parking spots installed in San Ysidro near U.S.-Mexico border” (July 1): I do not think that new parking meters should be installed in San Ysidro. While these meters may limit people from overstaying in public parking, they will create problems for the residents and businesses of the area and will ultimately do more bad than good for the area. While visitors taking up spaces for long periods of time is a problem, this is not the way to fix it.
