Today, I want to talk about Coronado, the Hallmark town of the USA. The parade was once again a wonderful tribute to our community. The mothers and fathers should be proud of their children. Their smiling faces and clapping as I rode by brought tears to my eyes, and I am proud of that. The children lined Orange Ave, sitting on the curb with their flags, smiles, and wearing red, white, and blue. I have never seen smiles that were so positive as theirs were coming from their hearts.
From the horses to the walkers, this parade was a winner! The people of Coronado that made this happen, I thank you for all you did! I cannot say enough about the people behind this parade who spend nights and days and take pride every year putting this parade on.
I’d like to thank the lady who came up to me in the parade to give me a kiss. That was a highlight for me! But overall the children were the highlight! Don’t forget that these children are going to be our leaders of tomorrow. So we must give them as much help as we can. Nobody had to take a back seat in that parade; the Scouts wearing their uniforms, the bands, military groups, and all those who walked contributed to celebrating all who make Coronado a Hallmark town. I was proud to be there with our Elite Marines!
I very seldom write letters for the paper, but when people come together to celebrate and show their pride, it starts me writing.
