BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department is inviting community members and families to the second “Summer Nights with BPD” event of the year set for next week.
The event is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Beale Park. The park is in the Oleander neighborhood in central Bakersfield at 500 Oleander Ave.

This is a free, family-friendly event that offers music, games and food for attendees. BPD officers will also host live demonstrations as part of the fun, officials said.
“In our third year, the ‘Summers Nights with BPD’s programming is designed to give families fun options to spend time together while enjoying our parks and learning more about the personnel who provide public safety to our communities,” said BPD Sergeant and spokesperson Eric Celedon in a press release Thursday.
