Zaire Wade, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, was has been charged with a felony after his arrest last month on suspicion of domestic violence in Burbank.
The 24-year-old Wade faces one domestic violence-related charge in connection with a June 21 altercation involving someone with whom he was in a dating relationship, according to the criminal complaint filed Thursday in Los Angeles.
Burbank police were called to a home at about 5:30 a.m. on that date after someone called 911 because a woman was screaming, according to law enforcement sources who spoke with NBC4 Investigates. When police arrived, they found former reality show star and former basketball player Zaire Wade and a female who had lacerations on her face and body, the sources said.
After talking to the parties involved, officers arrested Zaire Wade on suspicion of felony domestic violence, criminal threats and false imprisonment.
Paramedics responded to the scene to check on the woman. She was not transported to a hospital. A handgun was taken from the house after the arrest, authorities said.
Police issued an emergency protective order.
Zaire Wade posted $50,000 bond and was released later that day.

Zaire Wade played basketball at Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles. He has spent time in the G League and with teams overseas.
