The public was invited to view never-before-seen art by the late actor Angus Cloud Saturday.
Cloud was raised in Oakland and died there in 2023 from an accidental overdose. He rose to stardom for his role as Fezco on the hit HBO show Euphoria.
Action Packed Kids, or APK, presents Good Grief at Big Door Gallery in The Town was packed full of graffiti and color. APK artist Tre Sorenson said this was nearly all work done by Cloud, or Conor Hickey as they knew him, along with a handful of tribute pieces.
Some of the items included was a Euphoria script in which Cloud tagged. There were hanging stuffed toys because friends say Cloud loved expressing his inner child. He also explored wealth as a performance, tagging Louie Vutton shopping bags. The exhibit also included videos of Cloud.
Tre Sorenson was a close friend of Cloud’s and is also an artist with APK. He said they collected the items after Cloud’s death and stored them in Cloud’s mother’s basement for a few years. Sorenson said the show was a way to honor and celebrate Cloud who would have turned 28 on July 10.
“You’re going to be seeing basically a glimpse into his brain,” Sorenson said. “He was actually a real graffiti artist. He’s a real artist. He was just as cool as you thought he was, if not way cooler and way more creative,” he said. “It’s for him but, you know, it’s really for us to stay together.”
The exhibit was up for one day at Big Door Gallery, but APK said it hopes to bring this back every year.
July 31 marks three years since Cloud’s death and his friends also say stay tuned for something special on that day.
