FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Fashion Fair Shopping Center is breaking ground on Monday for the first phase of a multi-year revitalization project to enhance the guest experience, with work expected to continue through 2028.
The first phase will focus on the center’s Outdoor Village, where plans call for refreshed landscaping, updated gathering spaces and an enhanced environment designed for shopping, dining and community connection.
Work on the Outdoor Village is expected to be completed by this fall.
The phased renovation also includes center-wide improvements, such as upgraded landscaping, modern seating areas, enhanced ambient lighting, new flooring throughout the center, and remodeled restrooms with contemporary finishes.
Renovations are already underway for restrooms in both the Outdoor Village and the Food Court. Those restroom upgrades are also expected to be completed by the fall.
“This renovation is more than a facelift for the shopping center. It’s a reflection of our ongoing commitment to the Fresno community,” said Joey Elliott, general manager at Fashion Fair. “We’re creating a space that’s not only beautiful, but also functional, inclusive, and full of energy.”
The physical upgrades come as Fashion Fair adds new retailers and restaurants and refreshes existing store concepts. Recent additions and upcoming openings include Seoul Meat Co., MongQo Mongolian BBQ, Angel Sweets, Potato Corner and Escapology, an immersive escape room entertainment experience.
Several existing retailers are also unveiling remodeled locations and updated concepts, including Champs Sports, which will feature an expanded store in a new location; Bath & Body Works with a newly refreshed store concept; and Hot Dog on a Stick, reopening in a new location with an updated look.
Additional improvements, including upgraded lighting throughout the shopping center and new soft seating and furniture in common areas, are expected to begin in the coming weeks. Those upgrades and the new openings are anticipated to be completed before the holiday shopping season.
Fashion Fair said the Outdoor Village renovation will be the first visible phase of the broader revitalization effort, aimed at creating a more inviting experience for shoppers throughout the Central Valley.
