One man was killed and a second injured in a shooting in Long Beach over the weekend and police were searching for at least one suspect, authorities said.
Officers were called just past 4:20 p.m. Saturday, July 11 to the 1000 block of Myrtle Avenue on a report of shots fired, police said.
They found evidence that a shooting had occurred there but did not find a victim.
Officers then learned two men had arrived at hospitals with gunshot wounds. One died, while the second was admitted with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators were working to determine whether both were shot in the 1000 block of Myrtle, police said.
The identity of the deceased man was withheld by police pending notification of his relatives.
