Coroner ID’s man killed after fire in south Bakersfield motel

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a man who died after a fire at a south Bakersfield motel on Monday.

Officials said Jaime Bautista, 36, was in a structure fire at the Sierra Vista Motel located in the 5900 block of South Union Avenue, on Nov. 3, around 11 a.m.

Bautista was taken to the Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Burn Unit where he was pronounced dead on Nov. 4.

The Bakersfield Fire Department is investigating this case.
