In the second quarter of this year, the Port of Long Beach
handled container traffic of over 2.4 million
TEU, with an increase of +10.3% over the same period in 2025, which is
was determined both by the increase in full containers at unloading and
at boarding, results of 1.2 million (+12.0%) and
314 thousand TEUs (+19.3%), and by the growth in the handling of
empty containers which totaled 929 thousand TEUs (+5.6%).
In the first half of 2026, total traffic is
4.8 million TEUs, an increase of +1.7%
on the first half of last year, of which 2.3 million TEUs
full on landing (+2.6%), 616 thousand full TEUs on embarkation (+10.7%) and
almost 1.9 million empty TEUs (-1.9%).
