FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A Fresno High School tutor was arrested for allegedly trying to contact a minor in a Discord group chat.
Detectives with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested 26-year-old Keebtsim Txhim Christopher Xiong of Fresno.
Xiong served as an after-school tutor at Fresno High School and worked for an outside company, California Teaching Fellows Foundation, which is contracted by the Fresno Unified School District.
Because of an ongoing investigation his employer immediately placed him on administrative leave.
Detectives began investigating after receiving information that Xiong was inappropriately communicating with minors in a group chat on Discord.
Preliminary evidence indicates Xiong exchanged child sexual abuse material with the children and was making efforts to contact at least one of them in person.
He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes and possession/distribution of child sexual abuse material.
His bail was set at $100,000.
Xiong has since posted bond and was released from jail with a future court date.
