Coroner identifies 83-year-old man struck by vehicle on Panorama Dr

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified an 83-year-old man who died after getting hit by a vehicle while walking on Panorama Drive.

Larry Bernard Tombow, of Bakersfield, was a pedestrian on July 9 in the 1100 block of Panorama Drive. He was struck by a vehicle at 9:18 p.m. on Panorama Drive, east of Bucknell Street, according to officials.

Tombow was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman who was driving stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

Officials said Tombow was walking outside of a crosswalk when the driver, driving west on Panorama Drive, struck him.
