BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — No arrests have been made after a vehicle plunges into the canal in southeast Bakersfield Tuesday night.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on Tuesday night, officers, the fire department, and search and rescue responded to a report of a car that struck a fence and went into the canal near Madison Street and New Zealand Drive.
Police said the single occupant of the vehicle left.
No other vehicles were involved.
Police said as of Tuesday night, no arrests were made.
Eyewitness News obtained surveillance video showing the red vehicle hitting the fence and plunging into the canal.
A second video provided showed two individuals walking away from the area.
