California State Transportation Agency Secretary Toks Omishakin and Port of Long Beach CEO Dr Noel Hacegaba announced the port’s third-busiest June on record.
The Port of Long Beach moved 779,331 TEUs last month, up 10.6 per cent compared with June 2025.
Imports rose 11 per cent to 387,025 TEUs, while exports fell 1.3 per cent to 86,446 TEUs. Empty containers increased 14.1 per cent to 305,860 TEUs.
Year-to-date, the port has handled 4.82 million TEUs, up 1.7 per cent on the first half of 2025, putting it just ahead of pace for its busiest year on record.
Hacegaba said: “These results demonstrate the continued confidence cargo owners and supply chain partners have in us, the resilience of the supply chain and the continued demand for goods moving through our gateway. Businesses across the shipping and logistics industry continue planning for a range of scenarios as they work to build more resilient and diversified supply chains.”
Long Beach Harbor Commission President Frank Colonna, stated: “Our skilled labor workforce and terminal operators are delivering top-notch customer service by promptly processing cargo during the busy summer shipping season. Over the long term, we’re continuing to invest in infrastructure projects to keep us as a competitive gateway for trans-Pacific trade.”
