Lela Rose has opened its first California boutique in Montecito, marking the brand’s West Coast debut. The Monecito boutique, which was launched last month, joins preexisting locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and New York.

Lela Rose carries ready-to-wear outfits, accessories, and apparel, alongside select home decor.

The 1,095-square-foot shop can be found at The Post, a 38,000-square-foot boutique retail center at 1807 East Cabrillo Blvd.

Studio DB, a New York City-based architecture firm led by Damian and Britt Zunino, designed the boutique. It was crafted with custom details inspired by Montecito and the area’s Andrée Clark Bird Refuge nature preserve.

In a Facebook post on June 29, Lela Rose described the California boutique as bringing together “event-ready dressing, everyday ease, and entertaining essentials,” inspired by the state’s coast.

“Every Lela Rose store has a reason for being exactly where it is. Montecito felt like stepping into a Nancy Meyers film—lush gardens, charming storefronts, and the Andrée Clark Bird Refuge just across the way. Birds have long been woven into Lela’s design language and personal story, making this little corner feel less like coincidence and more like home,” an Instagram update from the boutique reads.

To celebrate its Montecito store debut, Lela Rose hosted a dinner at the location. The event included live music, food and drinks, conversations, and a celebration for the retailer’s next chapter.

About Lela Rose

The boutique, Lela Rose, was started by the designer with the same name. Rose has been in the fashion world for years.

Before she became a professional fashion designer, Rose trained as a painter and sculptor. Although she did not pursue a career in those fields, she implements the skills she learned in her training when she designs her outfits, per the brand’s website.

The designer’s collection ranges from casual, comfortable clothing to summer dresses, outfits suited for the ranch and even dresses to walk down the aisle.

Alongside its general catalog, Lela Rose has clothing lines Lela Rose Ranch and Lela Rose Bridal.

Rose’s designs have been recognized by notable fashion editors and stylists. Additionally, her designs have been worn by famous celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway, Uma Thurman, Jessica Alba, Catherine, Princess of Wales and Michelle Obama, among others.

Lela Rose strives to bring her designs to fashion lovers across the country, including those who do not have a store location near them.

The brand hosts stylish trunk shows across the country. Per Fashion Brain Academy, a trunk show is when a fashion designer or vendor brings clothes from their line to a store to give customers an exclusive in-person viewing.

This month, Lela Rose is hosting trunk shows in stores in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky; Mequon, Wisconsin; and Cincinnati, Ohio, among others. Throughout July and September, the brand is bringing its designs to many cities and states nationwide.

Montecito residents have a brand new boutique to add to their go-to list. Lela Rose is offering a discount to new customers when they sign up for the chain’s newsletter.

The store is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
