CORE Business Interiors is a second-generation family-owned business founded by Tom and Lisa Zimmerman, alongside their daughter Andrea Benson, in 2009. Established in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the business began as a small family-run operation with only eight employees. Over time, however, CORE has grown to become one of the leading interiors companies in the Central Valley, with more than 70 employees across its affiliated entities and a reputation for service, design and execution.
Expanding its capabilities from commercial furniture and interior design projects to workplace furnishings, modular interiors, flooring, installation, project coordination and specialized services, CORE Business Interiors credits its growth to strong family leadership, a clear succession plan and long-term client relationships throughout the years.
As a Fresno-based business, CORE participates in philanthropy, volunteering and board service, and partners with local organizations such as Fresno Mission, CASA of Fresno and Madera Counties, the Marjaree Mason Center and more to give back to the community.
Today, the business is led by the family’s second generation, with Benson as CEO, Tom Zimmerman remaining as founder and Lisa Zimmerman serving as chief financial officer.
In honor of its dedication to community and business success, CORE Business Interiors has been recognized as a Family Owned Business Awards honoree.
