Hearst Foundations award more than $3 million in grants for California organizations

The Hearst Foundations announced it is awarding more than $3 million in grants to several organizations in California.Below is the breakdown of where the grants are being allocated.Union Station Homeless Services, Pasadena, CA – $150,000 to support the Employment Development Program. MarinHealth Medical Center, Greenbrae, CA – $150,000 to support the capital campaign for a Tomosynthesis Mammography machine. San Francisco Conservatory of Music, San Francisco, CA – $150,000 to support housing scholarships. Raising A Reader, Milpitas, CA – $100,000 to support literacy programs for children. Wildlife Conservation Network, San Francisco, CA – $150,000 to support the Rising Wildlife Leaders program for U.S.-based conservationists over two years. Foundation For Women Warriors, Vista, CA – $100,000 to provide financial and supportive services for women veterans and their children. Breakthrough Collaborative, San Francisco, CA – $100,000 to support the National Teaching Fellows to cultivate the next generation of education leaders. The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program, Azusa, CA – $150,000 to support the expansion of wildfire workforce training programs and services. mikeroweWORKS, Santa Monica, CA – $150,000 to support the Work Ethic Scholarship program. Saint Mary’s College of California, Moraga, CA – $150,000 to provide scholarships for students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Library Foundation of Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA – $225,000 to support the ALOUD program over two years. All May See Foundation, San Francisco, CA – $250,000 to support the Vision Research Initiative. Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, San Francisco, CA – $150,000 toward general support. Homeboy Industries, Los Angeles, CA – $200,000 to support Youth Re-entry Center programs. California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, CA – $250,000 to support the Institute for Health and Healing in San Francisco. L.A. Dance Project, Los Angeles, CA – $100,000 to support the La Ville Dansée | City of Dance program. San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, San Francisco, CA – $250,000 to support Food Distribution Programs. Pitzer College, Claremont, CA – $150,000 to provide scholarships for New Resource Students. CASA of Monterey County, Salinas, CA – $100,000 towards general support. The William Randolph Hearst Foundation and The Hearst Foundation Inc. are independent private philanthropies operating separately from KCRA’s parent company, the Hearst Corporation.
