Catherine Breed attempting to swim 900 miles down California coast in historic bid
Ultra endurance athlete Catherine Breed is swimming the entire length of the California coast, a journey of approximately 900 miles, in an attempt to make history.
She began her swim at the Oregon border and has completed about a quarter of the route so far. Breed recently rounded Cape Mendocino, the westernmost point of California.
She is contending with powerful ocean swells and strong winds as she progresses.
Breed is aiming to complete the journey by November.
