San Jose’s San Pedro Square is getting ready for one final weekend of FIFA World Cup watch parties after weeks of drawing large crowds.

Businesses in the area are expecting another busy weekend as fans gather to watch the tournament’s final two matches. The third-place match between France and England is scheduled for Saturday, followed by the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina on Sunday.

At the Old Wagon Saloon, employees say fans have packed the venue throughout the tournament and expect another strong turnout.

“We think Saturday is going to be grande, it’s going to be big,” said Sonny Walker of the Old Wagon Saloon. “I think that those two matches Saturday and Sunday are going to be really big, doing all the preparations, tightening down the tables, those chairs, all that little stuff.”

Walker said some staff members hope the excitement surrounding the World Cup continues even after Sunday’s championship match, while others are looking forward to a chance to catch their breath after weeks of hosting large crowds.
