This morning we’re also learning more about the victims on board the boat that was carrying friends and family when it sank in the San Francisco Bay. Two of those victims have now been identified. Another 2 are still missing and presumed to be dead. Meantime, the body of *** Sacramento County woman has been recovered from that water. *** team using *** sonar scanner found here yesterday afternoon near Treasure Island. She’s been identified as being 50 eight-year-old Tandra Madruga. She was on that three-level boat to help spread the ashes of her friend. Her family posted *** statement on Facebook saying, quote, Following Tuesday’s boating accident in the San Francisco Bay, our family’s heartbroken by the loss of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt Tandra Madruga. Our hearts remain with every family impacted, and we sincerely appreciate your kindness and understanding, end quote. And we also had an opportunity to speak with *** friend of her son. And she was just genuinely like not even, not even saying this because she’s just passing like Tandra was genuinely one of the most loving mothers I’ve ever like she genuinely, you just felt good at her home and just comfortable, you know what I mean, always and she checked on you every 5 minutes and made sure you were good and comfortable at all times, you know. Meantime, the captain of the boat, John Boysa confirmed the two others missing are his sister Carol and sister-in-law Jackie. He sent us these photos here. Jackie was married to Clifford Boysa, who was also killed. He was 79 years old and *** retired reserve deputy for Sutter County. 20 people were on that boat for *** memorial service when it started to sink on Tuesday. 16 were rescued. Witnesses say the 3 people were stuck inside when the boat went underwater. Now divers are using boat-mounted sonar to do *** grid search for that boat. Once they find it, police will work with the Coast Guard to figure out how to recover it. Experts say the area that they’re searching is challenging. It’s up to 120 ft deep. The currents are also strong. It’s in the busy shipping channel.
