Fullerton Police Officers responded to the intersection of W. Orangethorpe Ave. and S. Basque Ave. regarding a collision involving an electric motorcycle and a vehicle on July 13, 2026, at approximately 9:09 pm. Upon arrival, Officers located a black 2013 Chevrolet Suburban and an electric motorcycle in the roadway.

 The preliminary investigation indicates a black 2013 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling westbound on W. Orangethorpe Ave. and began making a left turn onto S. Basque Ave. on a green light. At the same time, an electric motorcycle was traveling eastbound on W. Orangethorpe Ave. in the bike lane, also with a green light, when it collided with the Chevrolet Suburban.

The Fullerton Fire Department responded and transported the rider of the electric motorcycle, an adult male, to a local hospital with serious injuries. The Chevrolet Suburban was occupied by three individuals, all of whom were treated for minor injuries at an area hospital.

At this time, drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor for the driver of the Chevrolet Suburban. It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor for the rider of the electric motorcycle. The collision remains under investigation, and the exact cause has not yet been determined.
