Multiple injured in San Francisco after truck crashes into car during police pursuit at S. Van Ness Avenue and 14th Street

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Multiple people are injured after a vehicle collision during a police pursuit Sunday evening, authorities say.

The incident happened just after 8 p.m. in the area of South Van Ness Avenue and 14th Street when police tried to pull over a pickup truck when it crashed into another vehicle.

San Francisco Fire Department confirmed that nine people were injured between the two vehicles that collided. Five people were said to be in the pickup truck, while the other four were in the car that was hit.

Two people are in critical condition, six people were described with minor to moderate injuries and one person was assessed but declined to go to the hospital.

Authorities also said that the car hit by the pickup truck collided with a fire hydrant before crashing into a nearby car dealership.
