A man was stabbed Sunday night during a confrontation in a Fresno neighborhood, and the suspect was later arrested after a short police pursuit.
The incident happened around 9:22 p.m. in the 2900 block of East Austin Way, near East Ashlan Avenue.
Fresno Police Lt. Michael Pierce said officers arrived and found a man suffering from a wound to his arm.
The injury was considered minor.
Investigators determined the stabbing stemmed from a disturbance between neighbors.
Pierce said the suspect allegedly went to the victim’s home and physically assaulted him. During the confrontation, the suspect stabbed the man.
Pierce said the suspect left the area in a vehicle and drove toward Ashlan Avenue and Highway 41. Officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the suspect failed to yield, leading to a brief pursuit.
The suspect eventually returned to his home, where officers took him into custody.
He is expected to be booked into Fresno County Jail and faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
