Oakland police are investigating a shooting death from early Sunday near Lake Merritt.
Just before 3 a.m., officers were sent to the 1400 block of Lakeside Drive, near the Lake Chalet restaurant, in response to multiple alerts from the city’s automatic gunfire detection system.
When they arrived, officers found a man who had been shot at least once and died at the scene, police said Monday.
No arrests were announced and the man’s name wasn’t released.
