NEVADA/CALIFORNIA (KOLO) – A flash flood watch has been put in place for areas of Nevada and portions of California.
The watch is in effect for the Reno, Carson City, Minden and Tahoe areas, as well as Mineral County, southern Lyon County, Mono County and eastern Alpine County.
The watch will remain in effect from noon until 11:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service in Reno says thunderstorms could produce heavy rain Tuesday that produce conditions favorable for flash flooding.
You are asked to avoid burn scars, steep terrain and flood prone urban areas.
