NorCal forecast: Delta breeze surges back Wednesday
Wednesday afternoon will be more than 10 degrees cooler than Tuesday near the delta.

Calmer and much more comfortable weather is coming to Northern California sooner rather than later.
The delta breeze will surge back Wednesday afternoon and keep some parts of the Valley in the upper 80s. Places farther from the delta will be warmer.
The increased breeze will also keep thunderstorms from forming in the Sierra. Wednesday onward is dry in the mountains.
The rest of this week will be seasonably warm with clear skies.
Wednesday forecast
Wednesday morning will be mild like recent days but the afternoon will be much cooler in the Valley. The delta breeze will pick up and keep highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Wind timeline in the delta
Places in Solano and Yolo County will feel the delta breeze throughout the day on Wednesday. Areas farther inland will have the winds increase in the afternoon.
Weather pattern through early next week
The dome of high pressure and the heat that goes with it will stay to to east this weekend into early next week. This means that temperatures will stay pretty close to normal for late July. For Sacramento, that’s highs in the mid 90s.

The delta breeze will send temperatures down Wednesday afternoon. Numbers will bounce back closer to average for the rest of the week.
Foothills & Sierra 7 day forecast
A few light showers will pop up east of the Sierra crest on Wednesday, but winds will keep them out of the Tahoe area.
