(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento has been named as one of 25 “Cities on the Rise” for 2026 in a new list, citing growth in areas like healthcare and education.
Social media platform LinkedIn released the list Wednesday, recognizing “emerging metros seeing strong momentum across hiring, job creation and talent migration and giving professionals a fresh look at where opportunity is taking shape beyond the country’s traditional career hubs.”
Sacramento was placed at No. 19 on the list. The area earned the honor based on its presence in the healthcare, higher education and technology industries. LinkedIn said that UC Davis, UC Davis Health and Sutter Health are the region’s top employers.
LinkedIn also recognized Sacramento’s role as an agriculture hub in the U.S., naming UC Davis’ Aggie Square as fuel for a “growing biotech and agri-food ecosystem.”
The 2026 list was only the second annual edition of “Cities on the Rise,” and was Sacramento’s second inclusion. On the inaugural list, Sacramento was ranked at No. 16.
