Bakersfield stays under 100°, very hot in eastern Kern

Parts of Kern are heating up, while other have slightly cooled down.

Bakersfield stayed under 100° on Wednesday, and has a chance to do so again on Thursday.

Eastern Kern, however, will be getting hotter.

The Kern River Valley will be near 100° Thursday, and Tehachapi will be near 90°.

Desert areas will be very hot, with highs around 110°.

An Extreme Heat Warning will be in effect for most of the Kern Desert from Thursday through Monday.
