Celebrating 95 years of serving Los Angeles, Canter’s Deli in the Fairfax District will offer its signature hot pastrami sandwich for just 95 cents next month, the the landmark restaurant announced on social media Thursday.
The deal is available for dine-in customers only between 6 p.m. and midnight on Aug. 3.
The one-sandwich-per-customer offer will include cole slaw, a pickle and a chocolate chip rugelach. Customers may substitute Mrs. Goldfarb’s plant-based corned beef in place of the pastrami, according to the social media post.
Founded in 1931, Canter’s has become one of Los Angeles’ best-known Jewish delicatessens. The restaurant has been recognized for its pastrami sandwiches and remains operated by the third and fourth generations of the Canter family.
Earlier this month, fourth-generation owner Alex Canter announced plans to launch Maggie’s Refuel, a chain of upscale gas stations and convenience stores. The concept, which is expected to debut in Beverly Hills, aims to combine traditional convenience store offerings with locally sourced food and other premium products.
