Long Beach Police: Vehicle was keyed in a parking lot by someone who claimed to be blocked in

July 14 — There was a report of a disorderly patient who was currently being restrained by four people. Carlos Pimentel assaulted several nurses at the hospital. Pimentel was charged with first, second and third-degree assault, and was transported to jail. A Designated Crisis Responder was notified. See the related story for further details.
July 15 — Welfare check: There is a man between Ninth Street and 10th Street N. on Oregon Avenue having an episode. The caller said he was yelling and falling down, and was by himself. The caller was watching him.
She called back to say she gave the wrong address, he is between Fourth Street and Fifth
An officer arrived and contacted the subject, who was highly intoxicated and blaring his music. He was crying and upset because his girlfriend kicked him out.
The officer talked to him for a while, and he was talking about being a hybrid, and showing signs of having mental health issues. He was not a danger to himself or others, but the officer called for Mobile Crisis Services to come talk to him. Once they were on scene the officer left.
A citizen came in to report that a male subject was sitting on the stoop near the stage at Veterans Field acting weird and talking to himself. He has pill bottles spread out all around him, and there are children nearby.
An officer contacted the subject again. He had accidentally spilled one of his pill bottles. The officer helped him pick it up, and told him he needed to find somewhere else to go, and they were not going to be doing this tonight. He was very intoxicated at this point. He picked up his stuff and walked away.
Disturbance: Caller reported that a female subject is out and leaving the water running and messing with stuff in the bathrooms again.
An officer spoke with her. She was sitting in her truck, which was not running. She said she was watering her plants, and that’s why she had the water going. The officer told her that’s fine to do, but she needs to turn the water back off, not just throw the hose in the grass running. She stated she was gone for the past four days and just got home.
July 16 — An officer was sitting by the marina at the Port of Ilwaco, and a woman pulled up next to him and asked him if he saw the guy drinking a beer when he drove by the officer. He told her no. He found the truck in question at the traffic light. He did not see him drinking a beer when he went by. The officer followed them and had no concerns with his driving.
Staff from the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum called to report that a male subject was inside the museum and was being disorderly. An officer arrived and they told him that the subject was upset because they altered the Chinook Indian exhibit. He was leaving on his own when the officer got there.
The officer talked to him for a few minutes, and he was upset, but was calming down. The officer told him it’s not the fault of those who work there, and he said he understood. The officer then told the staff to call back later if their supervisors want to have him officially trespassed.
July 17 — A subject called in stating that her husband’s motorized wheelchair died. An officer was able to push him and his chair the rest of the way to their house about two blocks away.
Caller reported that she and her male neighbor got into a verbal altercation. Both subjects appeared to have been drinking. They were hanging out, and the male subject stated he would take her trash back to his place and get rid of it because she forgot this past week. Something was said, and they started arguing, and he stated he would throw all the trash on her vehicle. Then he left and went back to his apartment. Both parties were separated and agreed to stay away from each other the rest of the night.
Caller reported that last night someone was on their property, and it appeared that part of their door looked like someone attempted to pry it open. The caller said the subject came up from the trees next to their house and had left running toward a small green car and left.
The caller believes he has seen the same vehicle around town before, and believes it to be a small greenish Honda with a Rio Grande sticker on it and Oregon plates. The driver’s side window is possibly gone. An officer said he would attempt to locate the vehicle in the area or around town, and asked the caller to call back if he saw the vehicle.
July 19 — Malicious mischief: Caller said their vehicle was keyed in a parking lot. An officer arrived, and the caller told him that a little bit ago he parked his vehicle, and somewhat blocked in a white truck, but the truck had plenty of space to get out.
When he returned he had two notes on his vehicle. One said “Don’t block other vehicles!” The other had a name and number and explained that she had photos and saw the subject key the vehicle.
The officer asked the caller what he wanted done if the subject was located. He did not want to press charges, he just wanted the person’s information for insurance purposes to possibly civilly sue them. The officer later reached out to the woman who left the note, who did not get a plate from the suspect vehicle.
The damage on the caller’s vehicle was a scratch approximately 1 foot long on the driver’s side door. The subject who keyed the car was described as a white male, possibly in his 40s or 50s, wearing a red flannel shirt, a hat and glasses. He left heading north on Ocean Beach Boulevard. The officer checked the cameras to see if it caught the vehicle’s plate, but he could not see it.
