San Francisco police responded to the area at around 10 a.m. after receiving a report of a dead person floating in the bay, according to a statement from the San Francisco Police Department. Officers assigned to the Marine Unit, with assistance from the San Francisco Fire Department, recovered the body from the water.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the person’s identity and cause of death and will release the name after next of kin have been notified, police said Saturday.
