79th annual Long Beach Rodeo rides on: Peninsula Saddle Club dazzles at summer show

LONG BEACH — Cowboys and cowgirls saddled up for two days of fun and competition during the 79th annual Long Beach Rodeo last weekend, July 25-26, at the arena along Sandridge Road in Long Beach.
Presented by the Peninsula Saddle Club, the rodeo featured traditional events such as bullriding, bareback bronc, calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and wild cow milking, among others. New events this year included the ‘Hangman’ race.
A family night, featuring tug-of-war and stick horse races, followed the rodeo events on Saturday night.
