NorCal forecast: Mild and quiet start to the week but triple-digit heat will return
Weather is on repeat: seasonably warm temperatures, dry air, sunny skies, and light afternoon onshore winds.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
The heat on Monday, along with the first half of the week, should be fairly tolerable by midsummer standards.
Temperatures may inch up a little each day, but more significant warming is expected later in the week. As a warm weather system shifts back toward the West Coast, the heat is also forecast to expand westward again, allowing Northern California to heat up more noticeably.
By Friday, Sacramento and much of the Valley will likely see the return of triple-digit temperatures, marking the start of a potential heatwave. Some parts of the Valley, especially the northern portions, could even reach 100 degrees as early as Wednesday.
At the same time, the Delta Breeze is expected to weaken, which means evenings will also stay warmer.
Friday is expected to be the first of several KCRA 3 WEATHER IMPACT DAYS with 100s likely holding through the weekend and possibly into the start of next week.
After a relatively mild triple-digit season so far, the summer heat may soon be making up for lost time!
