Today we’d like to introduce you to Ekaterina Alenteva.

Hi Ekaterina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey has taken an unexpected path—from a career in information security to becoming an internationally recognized tattoo artist. After leaving the corporate world, I dedicated myself entirely to art, specializing in large-scale color realism. Since then, my work has been recognized through international awards, publications, judging opportunities, and this year my paintings were also exhibited in Los Angeles. Along the way, I founded the TattooArt Global Alliance to support education and professional standards within the tattoo industry. Today, I continue working a tattoo artist while developing projects that help elevate and connect the global tattoo community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge was having the courage to start over more than once. I left a successful career in information security to become a full-time artist, and later moved to the United States, where I had to rebuild my career from the ground up. Those experiences taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of continuous learning. Today, I see every challenge as an opportunity to grow rather than a reason to stop.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in large-scale color realism tattoos, creating custom pieces that combine technical precision with artistic storytelling. Beyond tattooing, I’m also an oil painter, educator, and founder of the TattooArt Global Alliance, an international organization dedicated to education and professional standards within the industry.

What I’m most proud of isn’t any single award or publication—it’s earning the trust of clients and peers around the world. I believe what sets me apart is the combination of an artistic mindset and a strong technical background, allowing me to approach every project with both creativity and structure. My goal has always been to create meaningful work while contributing to the growth of the tattoo community through education and collaboration.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is creating work that has lasting value—not only for my clients but also for the tattoo community as a whole. I believe great art should tell a story, and great education should inspire others to grow. That’s why I continue to create, teach, and develop new projects. For me, success isn’t measured only by personal achievements, but by the positive impact I can have on others and on the future of our industry.
