Hi Meitar, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As long as I can remember, I’ve loved storytelling.
As a little girl, I found every excuse to turn my living room into a stage, creating little performances for my family, acting out characters, singing, dancing, and bringing stories to life. Looking back, I realize that passion was always there. I didn’t know exactly where it would lead me, but I always knew that creating brought me so much joy and made me feel at home.
That passion inspired me to pursue acting professionally and eventually brought me to Los Angeles, where I continued my training while pursuing my dream of building a career as an actress.
Starting over in a new country wasn’t always easy, but it challenged me in the best possible way.
Every audition, every class, every project, and every collaboration became another step in my journey, helping me grow not only as an artist, but as a person.
While acting has always been at the heart of everything I do, I eventually realized that storytelling doesn’t belong to just one medium. My curiosity naturally led me into writing, directing, producing, and coaching actors.
Creating my own work has given me the opportunity to explore stories from different perspectives while deepening my understanding of both the creative process and human connection.
Most recently, I’ve embraced another lifelong passion by stepping into music. Music has always been part of my life, and for me, songs are stories too. They have the power to move people, create connection, and express emotions in a unique way.
My first original song and music video, Soft Chaos, will be released soon, and I’m incredibly excited to share this meaningful addition to my creative journey.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful to be working as an actress while also writing, directing, producing, and coaching actors.
Although each role allows me to express my creativity in a different way, they all feel like pieces of the same puzzle.
No matter which hat I’m wearing, it always comes back to the same “why”: telling stories that connect people, help them feel seen, encourage them to see each other with greater empathy, and perhaps even see the world from a different perspective.
I still feel just as excited about creating as I did when I was turning my living room into a stage as a little girl, and I hope I never lose that sense of curiosity, gratitude, and wonder.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges in the entertainment industry has been learning to embrace uncertainty.
Creative careers don’t always follow a straight line, and there isn’t a roadmap that guarantees success. I’ve always been someone who, when I’m passionate about something, wants to be as prepared as possible. If I can invest more time, work harder, learn another skill, or put in the extra hours, I will.
For a long time, I thought moving toward success meant having everything carefully planned out. Over time, I’ve realized that it’s a balance. Real growth comes from both doing everything you can to prepare and also trusting yourself while the path is still unfolding.
You may not know exactly how everything will come together, but you keep taking the next step with purpose, curiosity, and faith in the journey.
Interestingly, my love for improv has played a huge role in teaching me that lesson.
As both an improviser and an acting coach specializing in improvisation, I’ve learned that some of the most meaningful moments happen when you stop trying to control every outcome and instead stay present, trust your instincts, embrace the “yes, and” mindset, and respond truthfully to what’s in front of you.
That mindset has shaped not only the way I perform, but also the way I approach life and my career. Rather than fearing uncertainty, I’ve learned to see it as a space for creativity, growth, and unexpected opportunities.
As actors, we’re constantly auditioning and being evaluated, and the entertainment industry can sometimes be a place where there’s pressure to fit into certain molds. For me, though, staying true to my values, my perspective, and the stories I choose to tell has always been incredibly important.
I believe authenticity isn’t something to compromise- it’s one of the greatest strengths we have as artists.
I trust that the right opportunities will recognize that, and if there’s a story I truly believe deserves to exist, I don’t have to wait for permission to tell it. I’ll create it myself.
Looking back, every challenge has taught me something I couldn’t have learned any other way. They’ve taught me resilience, adaptability, patience, and gratitude.
I also think that when you’re deeply passionate about something, you’re naturally focused on the next goal, the next audition, the next project, or the next milestone. Sometimes it’s easy to forget just how extraordinary the journey already is.
I’ve learned to pause every now and then, look back at how far I’ve come, appreciate the incredible people I’ve had the chance to work with, and simply be grateful that I get to do what I love.
While the road hasn’t always been smooth, I believe every obstacle has shaped me not only into a stronger artist, but into a stronger person. And I think that’s ultimately what every story, including our own, is about: continuing to grow while staying true to who we are.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Whether I’m acting, writing, directing, producing, coaching actors, or now creating music, I try to leave a piece of my heart in everything I create.
I’m an actress, writer, director, producer, and acting coach, and I approach every project with a lot of love, passion, and genuine care. Acting has always held a very special place in my heart, and over the years that passion naturally expanded into other creative paths that beautifully support and inspire one another.
As an actress, I’m drawn to emotionally layered characters that reveal the tender parts of the human experience. I love exploring characters whose strength and vulnerability exist side by side.
Behind the camera, I’m drawn to stories that approach difficult subjects with empathy, offer fresh perspectives, invite meaningful conversations, and encourage us to see each other, and our world, with a little more compassion.
I’m incredibly proud and deeply touched that my work has been recognized with multiple awards at film festivals around the world, including Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Film honors. Receiving that kind of recognition for something you’ve poured your heart into is incredibly meaningful. But just as meaningful are the conversations that happen afterward, when someone tells me that a film I created helped them process something in their own life, gave them hope, encouraged them to see a situation differently, or simply made them feel understood. Those are the moments that remind me why I chose this path in the first place. I truly believe art has the ability to connect hearts in ways that words alone sometimes can’t.
I’m also incredibly excited about what’s ahead. I recently had the opportunity to appear in a sci-fi feature, which was such a wonderful experience, and I’m really looking forward to the upcoming release of the psychological thriller Recluse, which we filmed in Seattle. Getting to portray a character who is so quiet on the surface yet carries such a rich emotional world underneath was an incredibly rewarding experience as an actress. This September, I’ll be returning to Seattle to film the feature Some Like the Melee, where I’ll have the opportunity to play twin sisters with completely different personalities- the hero and the heel.
It’s a creative challenge that genuinely excites me, and I can’t wait to bring both characters to life.
If there’s one thing I hope defines my work, it’s intention and care.
I want every project I create to leave people with something. Maybe it’s hope. Maybe it’s a new perspective. Maybe it’s the courage to begin an important conversation, a deeper sense of compassion, or simply the feeling that someone understands a part of their world.
I believe art has an incredible ability to connect people, inspire kindness, and create positive change. If something I create can make even one person feel seen, inspired, comforted, or simply leave them with a little more light than they had before, then I feel incredibly grateful to be doing what I love.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most valuable lessons my career has taught me is finding the balance between knowing when to hold on and when to let go.
When you’re writing, directing, or producing a film, you naturally care deeply about every detail. There are moments where you have to stand firmly behind the things that truly matter to your vision, but there are just as many moments where you need to let go and trust the talented people you’ve chosen to surround yourself with.
Once everyone understands the heart of the story you’re trying to tell and shares your vision, something really special happens. Trust replaces the need to control every detail, creativity flows more freely, and the entire team is able to focus on bringing the story to life with such care and intention.
The same is true as an actress.
Every director, every cast, every set, and every city I’ve had the opportunity to work in has left its mark on me.
Every project has expanded the way I see storytelling and left me with experiences, perspectives, and lessons that naturally become part of every story I tell afterward. That’s one of the things I love most about this profession-you never stop evolving because every experience quietly shapes the work you create next.
Another lesson my career has taught me is how often our own minds underestimate what we’re truly capable of.
Some of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had began with a challenge that felt almost impossible. Whether it was learning an entirely new language for a role, memorizing countless pages of dialogue, performing physically demanding stunts, shooting underwater and in challenging conditions, or diving into emotionally demanding characters, every experience stretched me far beyond what I thought I was capable of.
Time and time again, I’ve experienced that beautiful moment when “I’m not sure I can do this” becomes “I did it!!” Those moments have reminded me that our minds often place limits on us long before reality does. Every challenge has left me not only with new skills, but with a deeper trust in myself and a greater willingness to embrace whatever comes next.
Looking back, I’ve realized that every project leaves me with so much more than a finished film. It leaves me with new friendships, new perspectives, and new skills.. That’s one of the greatest gifts this profession has given me, and something I’ll carry with me long after the cameras stop rolling.
