Fire in Oakland home appears to have started in child’s bedroom, officials say

OAKLAND, ME (WGME) – Officials are investigating a fire at a home in Oakland that happened around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says it appears the fire started in a child’s bedroom, causing significant damage to the second floor of the house.

Seven people were inside the home at the time, although none were injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
