A 7-year-old child is expected to make a full recovery after a near-drowning Saturday in Fresno.

Officers responded just before 8 p.m. to the area of West Magill and West Warner avenues after neighbors heard a commotion and pulled the child from a pool.

When officers arrived, the child had a pulse but was not breathing, police said. CPR was started before the child was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.

Police said the child had fallen into the pool and was briefly underwater.

The child is expected to make a full recovery.
