BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A driver was found dead behind the wheel at the intersection of Stine Road and White Lane Monday morning, prompting lane closures in the area.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on Monday, July 27, 2026, before 7 a.m., the department received a call to check the welfare of a driver who appeared to be asleep at the wheel of the vehicle in the intersection of Stine Road and White Lane.
Police said medical aid was called, and the driver was determined to be dead.
Officers are currently waiting for the coroner’s office to arrive.
Multiple lanes are closed in the area.
Residents are asked to avoid the area.
